What an incredible weekend for the community as we celebrated the culmination of the 2026 Moana Cup. The match is always a massive highlight on our calendar, bringing together exceptional rugby, competitive spirit, and the vibrant, inclusive community that defines our club.

The real heart of this year’s tournament was the incredible performance of our latest Pathways graduates. For the past ten weeks, these players have committed themselves to an intensive development program designed to introduce newcomers to the sport and sharpen the skills of returning players. Watching them pull on the Convicts jersey and fearlessly take the field at the Moana Cup was a proud moment for our coaches, the committee, and the entire club.

Transitioning from structured training drills to the fast-paced, physical reality of a live game is no small feat. Over the course of the ten-week program, these graduates put in the hard yards during grueling fitness sessions, learned the intricate mechanics of the game, and built the foundational trust required to play as a cohesive unit. Their effort was fully rewarded on the weekend, with every single graduate stepping up, executing their roles, and showing exactly what it means to be a Sydney Convict.
