The Convicts are an active force within the Sydney Gay, Lesbian, Bi and Transgender (GLBT) community and regularly assist organisations such as the Aids Council of NSW (ACON) promoting health and wellness messages to the community.
The club continuously raises funds to provide for the club’s upkeep and future development. Transporting a team of fifty to Dublin to defend their World Cup title requires substantial financial investment, and funds raised are also used to subsidise these costs for some team members when required.
Recent fund raising activities include film screenings, band nights, trivia contests and the now infamous Rugger Bugger events which feature the boys performing a “Full Monty” show amongst other acts.
