What a fantastic game on the weekend with our biggest winning margin this year by far 48-0. There was defninitly a focus in the team when they were warming up and talk about ensuring that we start well which is exactly what happened - so after sustained pressure and excellent patient rugby Sam Chesterman scored in the right hand corner.
So then the Captain and Vice-Captain decided to run the forwards at Chatswood and grind them down which resulted in Levi strolling over the line when a large gap opened up. Then a focus on the left hand wing and Junrey had a number of runs making half breaks and generally making the opposition fret! This pressure endded up with Charles scoring.
With such a good first half, in the past the Convicts have taken the foot off of the pedal but not this time, with tries by Gus, Gump (did that winger stand a chance really or was Gump just trying to see how far he would fly?) and congrats to Chris Rowe scoring his first try for the Convicts. We also saw a couple of trys go begging but the best part of the game was the patience and believe the team showed. Further more the work done to conter attack by Lukey was fantastic plus Junrey seemly seemlessly moving from winger to half back.
Coaches points went to: Charles Gregory & Luke Carpenter 1, Steve Thorne 2 and Levi 3 (Tommy is that correct?). I must admit the game by Levi was one of the best games I’ve seen who controlled the game from start to finish.
Bug thanks to everyone who helped out last Friday for another succesful Trivia night - we managed to beat the budget we’d set and that couldn’t have been done without: Duncan McGregor, Liam Bailey (managing bookings), Iain Jepsen, Simon Thompson and all the sexy bucket boys.
