The wet weekend meant that only one game was played, the 2nds Vs Macquarie Uni after the 1st’s game Vs Blacktown was called off.

This was meant to be the Convicts getting even following the loss in the first round of the year - however even though it was a better score line, there was still the same result. A 3 tries to 1 loss with Geoffie Horn scoring in the corner early in the second half. The player points from Breezy were Gump with 3 points, Andy Taylor with 2 and the retiring Charlie (yes me) with 1 point. The weekend’s game was my last on the field though I will of course continue as President - I had to to listen to my body which was telling me to finally stop.

The fantastic pub crawl started off early at 6:30pm and all with hats (or head gear in Charles’ case) and we ended up at our Sponsor the Midnight Shift some time around midnight and most staying on for a while! Thank you Paul Corey for organising it all another brilliant event.

Trivia Night is in the planning so start thinking of whom to get on your table - date and details to follow shortly

A great weekend of rugby and definitely a step up in the games - the seconds had a fantastic first win of the season and had 3 tries up by half time. The runs from the back 5 forwards were fantastic - Stu Fenton, Marty and Marcel having great line breaking runs. The bridging and commitment at the break down was what created the excellent recycled ball and the continuity of the game - thus resulting in pressure and therefore tries. Well done guys.

The firsts played wahat was and will be the toughest game this season against a very talented, fast and fit Army team. I know that I learnt a lot playing them and I hope that everyone that was on or watching learnt how a well drilled and trained team can play. There were some great positives with Junrey’s tackle on the right wing (who was selected to play with the Australian U20’s Development Squad only last month) was something to behold while Gump continued to take on the Army’s Captain (prop) in one on one duels (Gump was selected as the Army’s best player on the park).

Guys it was a great weekend of rugby, tough for some but it should have been rewarding for all who took the field.

Cheers
